Comparative Study of Phenylephrine , Ephedrine and Mephentermine for Treatment of Hypotension during Spinal Anesthesia for Caesarean
نویسنده
چکیده
Material and Methods e present prospective, randomized, double-blinded clinical study was conducted after obtaining permission from institutional ethical committee on 75 American Society of Anesthesiologists grade I-II patients with singleton, full term, uncomplicated pregnancy scheduled for elective caesarean section under spinal anesthesia. Patients with pregnancy-induced hypertension, history of diabetes, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease, fetal abnormalities and contraindication to spinal anesthesia were excluded from the study.

Comparison of Maternal and fetal effects of Ephedrine, Mephentermine and Phenylephrine for treatment of hypotension during spinal anaesthesia for Caesarean delivery
The objective was Ephedrine, Mephentermine, and Phenylephrine was compared in the treatment of maternal hypotension following spinal anesthesia for elective cesarean delivery. The Design was Randomized, double-blind trial and Setting in Obstetric suite at a university-affiliated hospital. The Patients were sixty healthy patients electively scheduled for cesarean delivery under spinal anesthesia...
متن کاملThe Effect of Prophylactic Infusion of Combined Ephedrin and Phenylephrine on Maternal Hemodynamic after Spinal Anesthesia for Cesarean Section: A Randomized Clinical Trial
Several techniques have been proposed to prevent hypotension in obstetric patients. Ephedrine and phenylephrine are individually used to prevent maternal hypotension; however, each has its own drawbacks. Some researchers have reported that the infusion of combined ephedrine and phenylephrine immediately after spinal anesthesia for cesarean delivery reduces the incidence of maternal hypotension....
متن کاملComparison of Intravenous bolus Phenylephrine and Ephedrine in the Prevention of Post- spinal Hypotension during Cesarean Section
Abstract Introduction: Spinal anesthesia is a commonly used anesthetic technique for cesarean section. The hypotension is the serious and common complication for it. Prevention of this complication is an important challenge for anesthesiologists. Objective: The aim of this study is to compare the effect of prophylactic bolus injection of Phenylephrine and Ephedrine in the prevention of hypote...
متن کاملComparison of Prophylactic Infusion of Phenylephrine with Ephedrine for Prevention of Hypotension in Elective Cesarean Section under Spinal Anesthesi: A Randomized Clinical Trial
Background: Spinal anesthesia is an accepted technique in elective cesarean sections. However, hypotension, resulted from sympathectomy is a common problem, especially in pregnant women. Prevention of this complication by sympathomimetic agents is of potential clinical significance. The aim of this study is to compare the effect of prophylactic infusion of Phenylephrine versus Ephedrine in the ...
متن کاملA Prospective Randomized Study Comparing the Effects of Intravenous Bolus Doses of Ephedrine and Phenylephrine for the Maintenance of Blood Pressure in Caesarean Section Under Spinal Anaesthesia
Background: In most of the obstetric patients undergoing caesarean section, spinal anaesthesia is the most accepted approach. It provides a rapid, intense, definite and better sensory and motor blockade. In spite of this, eighty per cent of patients experience hypotension after spinal anaesthesia. The use of vasopressors (Phenylephrine and Ephedrine) is the mainstay of treatment for hypotension...
